Product vision
The idea is inspired by airline industry partnerships, where a flight marketed by one airline may be operated by another airline. RideGrid applies a similar coordination model to local transportation services: one company or brokerage can source and list the service while another qualified transportation provider or driver operates it.
RideGrid Command is designed to turn the fragmented service activity of classic ride-share platforms—such as Uber, Lyft, and Careem—into a shared, stock-market-style operational order book for transportation services. Companies and brokerages can post service requests and offers in one place, while qualified drivers review and accept available work under jurisdiction-specific requirements.
The stock-market comparison is an interface and coordination analogy only: RideGrid lists transportation services and prices, not stocks, securities, investments, or ownership interests. The long-term vision is a single regulatory-platform workspace where a city or other authorized transportation operator can supervise participating companies, service exchanges, driver eligibility, and market standards. Actual authority, oversight, and legal requirements would depend on the applicable city, county, state, or national government.
What is included
RideGrid Command is an operational marketplace/order-book prototype for transportation companies, brokerages, and qualified drivers.
Companies and brokerages can post ride-service listings with pickup, drop-off, timing, service type, vehicle class, jurisdiction, and offered price.
Drivers can search listings, filter by jurisdiction, review service details, and accept available work.
Accepted work appears in a dedicated work queue.
Shared rides show total seats, available seats, and seats temporarily unavailable for cleaning/drying.
Providers can specify shared-ride/private-ride format and seat capacity when posting a listing.
Compliance-readiness fields cover permits, commercial insurance, vehicle eligibility, licenses, and local operating requirements.
Market standards and onboarding guidance are included in the interface.
The UI uses API-shaped mock data that can later be replaced with provider, listing, driver, acceptance, and jurisdiction endpoints.
Responsive layout supports desktop and mobile use.
Current limitations
This is a clickable MVP. Listings, acceptance, and posted work currently use client-side mock state and are not persisted to a backend or database. Payments, dispatch, identity verification, settlement, and public rider features are not included.
Regulatory requirements vary by city, county, state, and country. The product does not certify legal compliance; operators must verify applicable requirements with the relevant authorities.
