Overview
FamilySync is a private shared family calendar that consolidates every household member's schedule into one color-coded view. Each family member adds their own activities—work, school, sports, appointments, chores—and the whole family sees a merged calendar showing who's where and when. The MVP is live and verified working: events added by different members appear instantly on the shared month view, color-coded by person, and persist reliably on a PostgreSQL database.
Mission
FamilySync
What we're building
A private web app that consolidates every family member's schedule into one shared, color-coded calendar. Each member adds their activities (work, school, sports, appointments, chores) and the whole household sees a single merged view of who's where and when.
Current focus — the MVP is live
The first working version shipped (2026-08-19): a mobile-friendly shared family calendar where each member adds events (title, date/time, person, color-coded) and all members see everything merged on one month view. Live on Neon Postgres; verified end-to-end — events added by two different members appear merged, color-coded, and persist across reloads. Replaced the "coming soon" placeholder on the team's site.
Next up (post-launch roadmap)
- Family invitations / member onboarding (proper invite flow instead of add-member inline)
- Reminders for upcoming events
- Google/Apple calendar sync
- Going live to an always-on host with a custom domain when the family wants a shareable home for it
