Overview
StoryForge is an AI story studio for writers who publish serialized fiction—novels released chapter by chapter, web serials, ongoing stories. It lets you draft each new episode from a prompt while automatically maintaining continuity across all your installments: characters stay consistent, worldbuilding details are preserved, plot threads and timelines carry forward naturally. The result is a coherent series that reads like it was planned all along, even as you write episode by episode.
Revenue model: $12/month subscription. The Stripe integration is ready, landing page is live at storyforgewriter.com, and the OpenAI-powered story engine is built and server-side. First draft is gated until account creation and subscription access are wired.
Mission
StoryForge — Business Plan
What we're building
StoryForge is an AI-powered story studio designed specifically for serialized fiction creators. It helps the writers who publish ongoing stories — serialized novels, web fiction, chapter-by-chapter releases — stay fast and consistent: draft and continue episodes from a prompt, while continuity (characters, worldbuilding, plot threads, timelines) is carried across every installment, so a series stays coherent episode after episode.
Current focus
The landing page is live and verified on storyforgewriter.com (hero, pitch, how-it-works, continuity differentiator, sample excerpt, and a "Try the drafter" preview). A story-draft engine (v0) is built and published server-side, wired to OpenAI via env vars — the connected path is proven end-to-end with a real key and a real round-trip to api.openai.com (the UI shows "Engine connected" and relays OpenAI's errors honestly). First real draft is blocked only by the owner's OpenAI account having no paid credits (429 credit_balance_exhausted); the live site stays in an honest "warming up" state until gating exists so nobody can burn the owner's API budget. Business model: subscription at $12/month — the Stripe product, price, and payment link are created and verified; the Subscribe button stays off the site until the drafter works and the subscriber-access flow is defined (no dead checkout). No accounts or payments are live yet — real revenue is $0.
