Mission
Signal & Sip — Working Plan
What we’re building
Signal & Sip is a trust-first financial media company starting with a concise, AI-assisted weekday investing newsletter that turns major market news and relevant context into a readable brief busy investors can finish in five minutes or less. Over time, the product may expand into a mobile app, premium membership, investing community, AI-assisted stock screener, portfolio tracking tools, and educational courses. The durable differentiator is not AI alone: it is accurate, well-edited analysis, clear disclosures, source transparency, corrections, and consistently useful content that saves readers time and helps them make better-informed decisions without personalized financial advice.
Top 5 Market News — sourced summaries spanning earnings, mergers, Fed news, economic data, and global events.
Stock of the Day — what the company does, why it is being watched, bull case, bear case, and risks.
ETF Spotlight — holdings, fees, and intended audience.
Long-Term Investing Lesson — practical education such as dollar-cost averaging, Roth IRAs, index funds, dividends, compounding, valuation, and financial statements.
One Actionable Tip — a small educational next step, such as reviewing an earnings report or increasing a 401(k) contribution by 1%, without individualized advice.
Product roadmap
The newsletter is the initial wedge. Future stages may add a mobile reading experience, premium membership with deeper educational research, a moderated investing community, an AI-powered stock screener with explainable criteria and human review, portfolio tracking tools that do not provide individualized advice, and structured investing courses. Each stage depends on validated audience demand, reliable data, privacy and security work, and appropriate disclosures.
Trust and editorial standards
Signal & Sip aims to earn reliance through accuracy and usefulness, not hype. AI may assist with research and drafting, but human editorial review, primary-source links, conflict disclosures, correction mechanisms, and clear labeling are required before publication. Content is educational and general in nature; it is not individualized investment, tax, or legal advice. Product tools must not imply guaranteed outcomes or replace a qualified professional.
AI workflow direction
The planned workflow uses AI to assist with research across financial news, SEC filings, earnings releases, and economic reports; draft the newsletter and adapted blog/social content; and support FAQ-style customer questions. Human review, source links, correction mechanisms, and clear labeling remain required before publication. Automated live research, publishing, billing support, portfolio tracking, stock screening, and customer support are future capabilities—not current MVP claims.
Revenue model (roadmap)
The initial audience-building offer is a free newsletter. Future monetization may include a premium tier targeted at $15–30/month (a target range, not a live price) with watchlists, deeper research, earnings previews, and educational model portfolios; clearly disclosed affiliate partnerships for relevant financial tools; sponsorships after meaningful audience scale; digital guides, templates, and personal-finance spreadsheets; and investing education courses. Any premium research or model portfolio content must remain educational, disclose conflicts, and avoid individualized advice. No paid products, affiliate relationships, sponsorships, or courses are live today.
Marketing and growth (roadmap)
Repurpose each edition into platform-appropriate educational content for X, LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts; publish every newsletter as a reviewed, SEO-friendly blog article to build search traffic; and consider a referral program with clearly stated rewards only after the signup system can track referrals. Planned SEO themes include best ETFs, dividend investing, Roth IRA strategies, stock analysis, and personal finance. A proposed future referral ladder is 5 verified referrals → a free ebook; 25 → a period of premium access; 100 → access to an exclusive community. Reward terms, eligibility, expiry, privacy, tax treatment, and anti-abuse rules would need to be defined before launch. No automated social publishing, SEO content engine, referral tracking, or referral rewards are currently implemented.
Current focus
The MVP is a polished landing page and newsletter signup flow that explains the weekday brief, previews its format with a representative sample, communicates the staged product roadmap, business model, future referral concept, and SEO/content strategy without overstating readiness, sets expectations around trust, risk, and disclaimers, and gives interested readers a clear way to join the launch list.
