What we're building
A plain-language web app where a business owner types in what they earned and spent in a month and instantly sees that month's profit and the running yearly total — no spreadsheets, no accounting jargon, no chart of accounts to learn. The "easy input" is the product: two numbers and a save button.

Current focus — the MVP
The first working version, being built now, is one screen plus a summary view:

• Dead-simple input: choose a month, type total revenue and total costs, optionally add a label ("March — consulting"), save. Nothing else required to get a number.
• Instant math: profit for that month, year-to-date profit, and a simple month-by-month list with a bar chart of the last 12 months.
• Fixable: anyone can edit or delete an entry, and entries persist so the numbers are there on return.
• A short landing section on the same site saying what it does and who it's for.
• Access: the tracker is behind a simple access code, because real profit figures should not sit on a public URL.

Deliberately not in this version: multiple user accounts, bank/invoice imports, natural-language input, forecasting, exports, tax handling. Those arrive once the owner has used the thing and told us what's missing.
