Overview
It is a website that will let you convert anything to PDF.
Mission
DocuPDF
Owner-ratified 2026-08-28. The pricing strategy, conversion metric, required-signup free tier, and billing mechanism below are confirmed, endorsed direction. DWG feasibility research landed 2026-09-02 (team working update, pending owner ratification of the DWG path).
What we're building
A web app that pairs a smooth, PDF-viewer-style interface for previewing documents with one-click conversion of common file types into clean PDFs — and, on the roadmap, the reverse (PDF back into other formats). Target formats: DWG (AutoCAD drawings), images (JPEG, PNG), plus future all-format conversion.
Current focus — the MVP
The smallest thing a user can click through today:
- Upload a file (DWG, JPEG, PNG) from the browser.
- Convert it server-side into a PDF (via conversion libraries).
- View the result in an embedded PDF viewer with paging and zoom.
Scope: a working web app with a landing page so it can be tried end-to-end. The MVP is upload → convert → view, done well.
Pricing model (owner-ratified) — three tiers
Subscription. Simple and recurring:
- Free — $0, converts a limited number of files (5 conversions). Account creation is required to use the free tier (owner decision) — identity is server-authenticated; quota keys to the signed-in account in the database, not anonymous browser state. Kills the refresh/new-tab loophole.
