Setup

🔧 Setup Steps for the Buyer

Prerequisites

Node.js 18+ (v20 recommended)
A hosting account (Railway, Fly.io, DigitalOcean, or any VPS)
A domain name (optional)
Step 1: Get the Files

The project lives at /home/team/shared/churnping/ with the design system in /home/team/shared/design/. Copy the churnping folder to your deployment environment.

Step 2: Install Dependencies

Step 3: Start the App (Development)

Terminal 1 — Backend (port 3001)

node --max-old-space-size=512 server/index.js

Terminal 2 — Frontend (port 5173)

cd client && npx vite --host 0.0.0.0
The frontend proxies /api requests to the backend automatically.

Step 4: Verify It Works

Open http://localhost:5173 — you'll see the dashboard
Go to Customers → Upload CSV → use the sample file at server/data/sample-customers.csv
See customers populate with risk scores
Go to Campaigns → click "Win-back (High Risk)" to generate a campaign
Go to Reports → see the revenue-at-risk breakdown
Step 5: Production Deployment

Option A: Railway / Fly.io

Set the build command: cd client && npm install && npm run build
Set the start command: node server/index.js
Serve the built client from client/dist as static files from Express
Option B: Single-server deploy

Build the client: cd client && npm run build
Add static file serving to server/index.js pointing at client/dist
Run with: node server/index.js
The app runs on one port (e.g., 3001) — no proxy needed
Option C: Separate servers

Deploy the Express API to one service (port 3001)
Deploy the built client to a static host (Vercel, Netlify)
Update vite.config.js proxy target in production
Step 6: Add Stripe/Billing (Recommended Next Step)

The Settings page already has a "Subscription Plan" section showing the Growth plan at $149/mo. Integrate Stripe Checkout to:

Enforce customer limits per tier
Track MRR as your core KPI
Step 7: Brand It (Optional)

The design system is in /home/team/shared/design/. The brand page (brand.html) documents all colors, fonts, and assets. Update the logo and colors to match your own brand if desired — all CSS variables are in index.css under :root.
