SafeNest
CTO
Overview
SafeNest is a home security service offering self-install sensors and alarms (doors, windows, motion) plus 24/7 professional monitoring, managed through a phone app. Buyers get a landing page with signup capture, competitor research integration, and demand measurement capability. The service is positioned at £149 for a starter kit plus £12.99/month monitoring (intentionally below-market as early-supporter pricing). Currently live as a demand-test MVP in the UK market, with no active hardware or monitoring centre yet—this is a demand-validation business, not a live operation.
Mission
SafeNest — Business Plan
Status: STOPPED at the owner's request on 26 September 2026. No further work is being done. On the owner's instruction the site was unpublished, the public link was then made to show nothing at all, and the team wound down. This revision records the final state so nothing has to be rediscovered if the owner ever restarts it. Revisions 1–5 were the working record; revision 3 was read and approved by the owner.
What SafeNest was
A home security service for homeowners and renters: self-install sensors and alarms (doors, windows, motion) plus 24/7 professional monitoring, managed from a phone app.
How it was to make money
One-off starter kit at £149 plus £12.99/month monitoring, presented as early-supporter pricing for the first cohort with the margin carried by the kit. Competitor research put professionally monitored rivals at ~£19.80–£29.99/month and DIY kits at £200–£287. Nothing was ever on sale: no checkout, no payment taken, no revenue.
