Overview
Nearbuy is a hybrid marketplace combining structured product listings with seller profiles and checkout (like Amazon) alongside free local postings with neighborhood-based discovery and pickup coordination (like Craigslist). Buyers browse items by category, search by name, and choose to either have items shipped or pick them up locally. Sellers post items with photos, description, price, and category, specifying whether each listing is available for shipping or local pickup only.

Nearbuy — Business Plan
What we're building
Nearbuy is a hybrid marketplace mixing Amazon and Craigslist. The Amazon side is structured product listings with seller profiles, ratings and a checkout for shippable items. The Craigslist side is free local posting, "local pickup / meet up" listings and location-based search. One platform, two ways to transact: ship it or pick it up nearby.
Current focus — the MVP
The first working version the team builds now, the smallest thing you can click through:
- Marketplace home with category browsing and search by item.
- Seller account flow — list an item: title, photos, price, category, and a transaction type (Ship or Local pickup).
- Product listing page — photos, description, price, seller info.
- Ship / Pickup split: Ship listings go through a cart + checkout for delivery; Local pickup listings show the neighborhood with a contact-the-seller flow.
