Overview
Square Up is a shared expense tracker for trips, roommates, and group dinners. Log what you paid and who it was split between, then see live balances showing who owes whom. Get the minimal set of transfers needed to settle up, with one click to mark each payment done. Share a link with your group—everyone sees the same ledger in real time, no accounts needed.

What we're building
Square Up — a shared expense tracker for trips, roommates and group dinners. Everyone logs what they paid and who shared it, sees live balances of who's owed and who owes, and gets the shortest set of transfers that makes the group even. Anyone with the group link sees the same ledger, updating on its own as people add things — no accounts, no signup, the link is the access.
Who it's for
Small groups who share costs and don't want an app account each: a trip, a shared flat, a long dinner, a couple. One person starts the group and sends the link; everyone else just opens it.
Current focus: get a real group using it
The MVP is built and live. Shipped and checked on the published site:
- Example trip on open — a made-up demo ledger, fully interactive, nothing saved; reset button.
- Start our group — creates a real ledger and gives a shareable link.
- Log an expense — amount, who paid, who shares it (everyone or a subset); leftover cents split fairly so shares always sum to the total.
