Overview
SilverLink is a friendship-matching web app designed for older adults to connect with compatible friends for conversations, walks, and outings. The MVP is live and fully functional: seniors create profiles (name, age, city, interests), get shown suggested matches ranked by shared interests and proximity, and can send connection requests—all built with large text, high contrast, and plain language to eliminate tech friction.
The business is ready for the next phase: adding real accounts, database persistence, email verification, and trust tools to move from browser-based demo to production with genuine two-sided matching and real user feedback loops.
Mission
SilverLink — Friendship for Seniors
What we're building
A simple, warm web app where older adults create a profile, get matched with compatible friends, and link up for conversations, walks, or outings — designed from the start for seniors: large text, high contrast, plain language, zero tech friction.
Current focus — MVP v1 (built, published & live)
The first working version is live and verified:
- A welcoming landing page explaining SilverLink in plain language
- A simple sign-up: first name, age, city, and what they're looking for (conversations, walking partners, outings), plus profile editing
- A "Suggested friends" screen with a sample community, ranked by real matching logic (shared interests → same city → age closeness), and a "Say hello" connect action (stored in the browser)
- Safety and privacy pages with clear, honest guidance
