Overview
Backstage Ops handles brand deals, contracts, and taxes for mid-tier creators (20K–200K followers) who are monetising inconsistently and managing these workflows manually. The service reads brand-deal contracts for red flags, negotiates on your behalf, and handles bookkeeping and tax admin during tax season. You get a dedicated contact who replies within two business days and can spend 20 minutes unpacking a single contract with you.

What we're building
Two candidate shapes, and the tool-landscape scan has now sharpened which parts of each are worth building.
- Shape A — the creator back-office platform. One workspace covering deals, contracts, money and content. The scan tells us the crowded layers are free: Passionfroot already gives creators the deal inbox, rate card, booking forms, payments and invoicing dashboard for $0 (brands pay a 15% match fee), and invoicing with automated reminders is commoditised across Wave, FreshBooks, HoneyBook and others. A subscription for those layers competes with $0.
- What is actually open. Two things. (1) No priced product anywhere reads a creator's brand deal and returns a plain-English summary with red flags — the nearest neighbours are SME contract tools ($59–$320/mo) and one-off template shops ($297–$797). (2) : no tool knows a brand owes net-60 on a sponsorship, holds a kill fee, or never confirmed usage rights. Negotiation is absent from every product scanned.
