CartCompare — Instant Grocery Price Comparison
Grocery prices swing wildly between stores, and nobody has time to check five different apps before they shop. CartCompare fixes that: enter your shopping list once, and instantly see which nearby store has the cheapest total cart — plus an item-by-item price breakdown — then click through to that store's site with your cart ready to check out.
What's included:
Live MVP with cart builder, autocomplete, and price comparison across 5 major grocers (Walmart, Kroger, Albertsons, Target, Publix)
15 grocery items ready to compare, with a data model built to expand to 40+ items and all major national/regional chains (Costco, Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, H-E-B, Safeway, Aldi, etc.)
Clean, mobile-responsive UI with emerald/green branding
Ad slot placeholders already integrated for immediate monetization
Revenue model:
Free to use, ad-supported — sponsored product placements, banner/display ads from CPG brands and local grocers, with room to add promoted store listings and affiliate commissions on cart click-throughs.
Why it's a strong starting point:
The UX and comparison engine — the hardest part to design well — are already built and working. What's left is connecting real, live pricing data (via store APIs or a data feed) and finishing the database migration, both clear, well-scoped next steps rather than open-ended unknowns.
Ideal buyer: Someone who can source or build a live grocery pricing feed (or has existing relationships with grocers/data providers), or a developer looking to skip straight to the growth phase instead of building a comparison engine from scratch.
