Overview
MacroEat is a mobile-friendly web app that acts as your nutritionist for eating out. Answer a few questions about your age, weight, activity level, and goal (cut, maintain, or bulk), and the app calculates your personalized daily calorie and macro targets. Then it recommends where to eat and what to order from a curated library of popular chain restaurants, showing you meals that fit your remaining budget. Log what you eat and watch your progress bars update in real time. No signup required—your data stays on your phone.
Mission
MacroEat
What we're building
MacroEat is a nutritionist-style web app for eating out: it calculates your personalized daily calorie and macro targets from a short profile, then recommends where to eat and what to order — tuned to your location when live restaurant data is available, otherwise from a curated library of chain-restaurant meals — so you stay inside your targets. Log what you actually eat and see your remaining budget update live.
Current focus — MVP
The first working version is a lightweight, mobile-friendly single-page web app, published to the live site:
- Nutritionist onboarding: age, sex, height, weight, activity level, goal (cut / maintain / bulk) → personalized calorie + protein/carb/fat targets via Mifflin-St Jeor TDEE; all targets editable afterward.
- Where & what to eat: a curated library of popular chain restaurants and 30+ common meals with realistic macros; "best picks" per restaurant and a recommendation ranker that favors meals fitting your remaining budget.
