Mission
RecallRadar — instant product-recall checks for independent sellers
What we're building
A web tool for independent US consumer-product sellers (Amazon, Etsy and Shopify shops of 1–20 people) who resell goods sourced from third-party suppliers and can't afford enterprise recall software. They paste or upload their product list and immediately see which items match a live government recall — CPSC, FDA and NHTSA — with a plain-English summary of the hazard, when it was published, and what to do about it.
How it makes money
- The checker is free and needs no account. It is what brings a seller to the site and what proves the match quality is real. Capped at ~50 items per check.
- The $39 one-off "full catalogue recall screen" is live and payable. Up to 2,000 products; per-item verdicts, hazard, recall date, remedy and a link to the official notice, delivered as a private report link. Sold through a real Stripe checkout link, and the screen is gated: with a payment link configured, submitting without a payment reference produces no order and no report. The reference is recorded and reconciled against Stripe by hand — it is a deterrent and an audit trail, not verification. A true lock needs Stripe webhook confirmation, which requires a paid platform plan.
- Recurring monitored alerts, later. A monthly watchlist that tells a seller when a new recall matches their catalogue. That tier needs email and scheduling, so it cannot be built until the business is on a paid platform plan. Email is not available at all today, so nothing in the product may promise it.
