Overview
ScopeGuard is an AI agent that helps freelancers handle scope creep conversations with clients. Paste a client's request for out-of-scope work, set your tone, and ScopeGuard generates a professional reply with an itemized revised quote—ready to send in seconds. This saves the mental load of negotiating boundaries while keeping the client relationship intact.
The product is live with a working paste-to-draft app, realistic before/after examples, and a free tier (3 generations) plus paid access. Generation requires an Anthropic API key and real hosting on Vercel to function end-to-end. The team handles all development and deployment in-house with no external dependencies beyond the LLM API.

What we're building
ScopeGuard is an AI agent that drafts the email every freelancer dreads writing: the reply to a client who asked for work outside the agreed scope. You paste the client's message, set your tone, and ScopeGuard writes a firm-but-friendly response — including an itemized revised quote — ready to send in seconds.
Current focus
The MVP is built and published: a landing page with realistic before/after examples, a working paste-to-draft app (tone options, optional hourly rate → itemized revised quote, copy/regenerate), 3 free generations, and a Starter-pack paywall. Verified live; the app validates input and surfaces honest errors. Two things must happen before the AI generation works end to end: the owner adds the ANTHROPIC_API_KEY secret (Anthropic), and the site goes live on Vercel — the preview URL's proxy filters content-bearing API requests, so the product needs real hosting to function. After that: wire the real Stripe Starter pack into the paywall, then a quality pass tuning the AI drafts on realistic scope-creep messages. The only external dependency is the LLM API for generation — we build, publish, and sell it ourselves, end to end.
